THE 5 ESSENTIALS TO HIGHER VIBES

Updated: Sep 15, 2019

Every so often I get asked the question, "how do you stay so positive?" and quite honestly, it isn't exactly the word I would use to describe my demeanor. I've always been more of a realist than an optimist, but over the last two years I have adopted a short list of lifestyle habits that help me vibe a little higher than most, even on those days where every human I encounter makes me question humanity. #youfeelme #introvertedAF So, weather you are in need of a outlook makeover, or just lack overall happiness and content, I have make a list of essential practices I use to help me feel good in my skin and vibe at a higher frequency. Take them, use them, make them your own! I promise if you start doing these things you will start to feel like the best version of yourself.

PRACTICE ONE: Start Inhaling Personal Development

A little over two years ago now, I had my beautiful little boy, and with the gift of motherhood came a huge amount of mom guilt and anxiety. I wasn't getting enough sleep, I felt like I wasn't giving enough of myself, and I cried...like a lot. As a new mom I literally never felt like I could get my shit together, and I was losing my sense of self outside of milk machine. I got the opportunity to start working from home doing something I loved, and with this new job, I was required to start doing personal development EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I made lots of excuses about why I couldn't stick to the practice of reading something that would stimulate my brain every day, but eventually I figured out I was never going to start feeling better unless I made this a habit that I kept. I started using Audible to listen to books in the car while I drove my terrible little sleeper around for his daily "nap drive." I started learning, feeding my brain, igniting this internal purpose I had for life and the impact I wanted to have. My mood started shifting immediately and I knew this was going to become a staple part of my routine if I wanted to show up at my best for my family and friends. You absolutely have to work on your own mental health before you can take care of someone else's.

PRACTICE TWO: Stretch the F*ck Out

I am the type of person who needs to feel good physically, in order to function well mentally. I wouldn't be shocked if the majority of people feel this way, whether they realize it or not. Every time I workout I stretch, but on top of that I stretch out twice a week for about 10 minutes. If you are stressed, you get stiff, if you are stiff, you need to stretch or the cycle of stiff and stressed just continues on. I applaud those people that make it a priority to book a monthly massage, and someday I hope to make it to that level of dedication to self care. #youtherealmvp Right now though, stretching one day and foam rolling another is a huge part of my feel good routine. Not only is it a good practice on a physical standpoint, the mental break from my routine (the mommy timeout) is a essential part of my weekly routine. Being a mom is hard you guys, actually scratch that, trying to adult is hard. Just stretch out, you'll thank me later.

PRACTICE THREE: Drink Enough Agua

You will feel better, less groggy, more energized, and healthier overall if you just drink the appropriate amount of water for your body. Take your weight, divide it in half and that is the amount of ounces you should be drinking per day. It seems stupid but its a life hack that I live by for keeping myself on track and feeling good every day. People wouldn't talk about it constantly if it wasn't something you should probably get on top of like...yesterday.

PRACTICE FOUR: Grab the iced latte

So this one you can totally revise to fit your needs and personal preferences. For me, there is nothing...I'm dead serious...that puts me in an instantly good mood, high vibe, manifesting my dreams, getting in synch with the universe, type of mood like grabbing my favorite iced latte. It makes me feel confident, it gives me an air of motivation, I don't even know you guys. It just makes me feel good. Find something small, that you can easily do for yourself, that makes you feel awesome. Maybe get a pedicure, grab a donut, meditate for 5 minutes, just do something. Find your thing, do it frequently, you got this girlfriend.

PRACTICE FIVE: Sweat More

As the type of person who used to deal with stress, anxiety, happiness, anger...whatever emotion really, with alcohol, it's crucial that I practice some type of emotional regulator that isn't a substance. For me, exercise is my go to, and no matter what, it works. I could list off all the reasons you should be working out, all the scientific facts behind implementing some sort of exercise into your routine, but I'll save you the lecture. Here's the thing, your mind and body are connected, the better you feel physically, the better you feel mentally and same goes for the other way around. If you want to function at a higher frequency and give off all the good vibes, you should be sweating it out at least 3 days a week. Find something that makes you feel good, and that doesn't feel like a burden sitting on your weekly calendar. I personally do a combination of lifting workouts and Zumba classes. It keeps my body guessing and I never get burned out from doing the same thing over and over again.

I would love to hear about some of the high vibe habits you guys use to feel good on a daily basis! Sharing is caring! Comment below if you have a different practice or one that is super essential to your well being.
